Fish River Lodge is situated on the western rim of the Fish River Canyon and should not be confused with the famous Hobas view point on the eastern rim.
Recommended Route, from Keetmanshoop or Luderitz on the B4: Take the D463, a gravel road to the turn off to Fish River Lodge. Duration is ± 2 hours with signage along the way.
Rosh Pienaar from the South: Take the D463 from the C13. Look out for the Canyon Nature Park and Fish River Lodge signs to the right.
The access road to the lodge just off the D463 is 19km to the lodge and best traversed using vehicles with high clearance or 4 x 4, although sedan vehicles can be driven if you drive this section slowly.
After 5km on this track you will pass two farmhouses; follow the small signs to the lodge that is a further 14km.
- Do not take the C12 towards the Fish River Canyon as you will end up on the eastern side of the canyon and there are no roads across the canyon to Fish River Lodge.
- Please leave plenty of time for your journey so that you can enjoy the drive and arrive in daylight or in time to catch the sun set over the canyon.
- Closest fuel stops to the lodge are:
o Keetmanshoop, 180 km north east of the lodge
o Grunau: 265 km south west of the lodge
